Bipolar Scotland Message

Hi, I’m Alison Cairns, Chief Executive of Bipolar Scotland. I wanted to send a message to let you know that the team at Bipolar Scotland, that is myself, Gwen, Graeme, Emma and Jamie are still working throughout this time and are here for you.

Our face to face self help groups are cancelled until further notice in line with Scottish Government advice but we are working on getting online groups up and running, and will be training facilitators very soon. We are grateful to our group facilitators who have volunteered to keep the groups going in this way.

There will be no self management training courses until things change but we are using the time to develop self management and peer support further. There may even be some online training coming up.

We will be available on the phone on 0141 560 2050. We may be working remotely but we will try to answer calls and we are able to pick up messages so please leave a message if you get the answerphone.

Mind and the Mental Health Foundation have excellent guidance on their websites on looking after your mental health during this time, especially if you have to self isolate. We will post the links on social media.

Please stay in touch – call us, message or respond to posts, we’ll be more active on social media and will respond as soon as we are able. Let’s be the community we know we are at Bipolar Scotland and support each other through this time.

We will be acting in line with Scottish Government and NHS advice and will keep you informed via social media and the website.

We will be in touch with all our members over the next week or so and hope you all keep safe and well during this crisis.
